April 26: Erika Lars

Erika Larson of the blog www.erikalars.com joins us to talk about how to avoid plastic packaging at the grocery store and in your kitchen. With China refusing to buy the recycling we produce here in the States, and Minneapolis' trash incinerator permanently housed between Downtown and North Minneapolis, many are now wondering if there's a better way.

Erika, who has been on her zero waste journey for four years and worked at a bulk-friendly grocery store for more than three years, will cover everything from how to shop package or plastic free at all grocery stores, zero waste meal planning, cooking from scratch, sourcing local and seasonal food, zero waste on a budget, and how to stay courageous on your quest for package-free goods.

You'll leave this fun workshop with ideas, energy, and inspiration for zero waste cooking and shopping, whether you are shopping at farmers markets, co-ops, or conventional grocery stores. Extravagant grocery budgets not necessary!

This event is hosted by Tula Spa in Minneapolis. Tula is a lovely organic spa featuring mindful massages, eco-waxing, and holistic skincare, and they have been so supportive of the zero waste lifestyle and all things eco! Thank you, Tula Spa!
